September Giveaway -- Week Four

My thanks to everyone for making this
such a fun week of bookish fellowship.
Love hanging out with a crowd of people
who take their TBR lists as seriously as I do! :-)

Before we get started with the giveaway announcements let's take a look at the books that got the most votes in each genre:

Christmas :

An Ivy Hill Christmas by Julie Klassen
(SIDE NOTE: We are a loyal lot because this book
was the most requested in the Historical Category last time!)

Historical :

A Castaway in Cornwall by Julie Klassen
(SIDE NOTE: Consistent and loyal because we requested
her the most in two different categories!)

Contemporary :

Some Bright Some Day by Melissa Tagg

Suspense/Mystery :

Courting Misfortune by Regina Jennings

Amish : a tie!

The Amish Christmas Secret  by Vannetta Chapman
The Coffee Corner by Amy Clipston

Without further ado, here are our

Wait -- it's not over yet. I decided to throw in a Vanity category --
in other words, it's all about my cover love.
I chose my favourite cover for each genre and then did
a draw from the names of readers who entered them...a kind of draw within a draw? Am I making sense? Hope so. Here are those winners:

My Favourite Christmas Cover:
(and the pic that gave me the notion to do this...)
Seriously, how can you not feel a burst of Christmas
optimism when you look at this cover? I have put antlers on dogs, cats, very reluctant bunnies and made a valiant attempt with a pet rat, but
none of my critters came close to the scrumptious goodness
of this decked out baby!

WON BY MARK

My Favourite Historical Cover:
I'm really drawn to the subtle contrast between the
background and the silhouettes. And I love all
the curleques -- they look embossed. And this cover is
so different from the norm.

WON BY ELIZABETH LITTON

My Favourite Contemporary Cover:
Love the simplicity of this one and the atmosphere
it creates. The soft tones, pink meshing with white
just pulls me in.

WON BY PATTY

My Favourite Romantic Suspense Cover:
This one is soooo creepy. Very atmospheric
and I like the black and white images...except for
the shovel handle...eeep!

WON BY LIZ R.

My Favourite Amish Cover:
So many Amish covers look the same, usually pretty stark
background and one figure looking away. I like this one
because it's lively, telling a story before you even
open up the book. And I love the sparse use and
varying tones of red and green. Perfect for a Christmas story.

WON BY MELANIE BACKUS

And that's a wrap! I'll send winners an email stating their book and publication date and also requesting a mailing address (or notification that you would prefer an ebook and confirmation of email address to send it to) so that I have everything ready for release day! Then I will email you once the book has been ordered.

    1. Sigh...yes, Ford...but I'm really intrigued by Ruby Jane too -- they're almost fifty/fifty in the story. Looking forward to her story next. Just missing Wyatt but my library finally got that one in. Hooray...or on order anyway.

  2. Congratulations to all the other lucky winners and happy reading to all! Thank you! So many good books to look forward to. I was hoping you would again do the extra statistical analysis of the most requested books - that is so interesting to know. If Julie Klassen or her publisher is following this blog, they must be happy! The cover focus is fun, too!

    1. I'm always interested in knowing which books are the top picks -- and the cover picture art -- sigh, I'm fascinated by what makes the cut with the publisher and if it really sells the book. These ones sure did for me.

  4. Beyond thrilled to have won The Sound of Falling Leaves! 🍁🍂🍁 It didn't release when it was originally scheduled & I've been waiting for it though Covid, intense heat, and mosquitos big enough to carry you away! 😨 My (sorta) patience has been rewarded! 😇 Thanks so much, Kav, and congrats to my reader friends who helped add to my wishlist! 📚

  5. Congratulations to all the winners. Happy Reading.
Thank you Kav for having these give a ways. I always look forward to it. I get to put out some of my anticipated books and learn about other books coming out. Because of this wonderful give a way you have, I have acquired a few favorite authors (like Amanda Flower). And thank you for doing the "cover" winners. That is such a fun and generous extra. Have a fantastic weekend. Hugs Lori

    1. Yay -- glad you love Amanda Flower as much as I do. and she's been writing up a storm lately. I'm about to dive into a new series by her. That makes three on the go at tone time. Wonder how she keeps all her quirky characters straight? lol Thanks for joining in the fun, Lori!

    1. I'm a little cross-eyed right now from the tallying for sure. Always terrified I'm going to mess up somehow. Still holding my breath but it seems to fine so far....And hoorah for near-toppling TBR piles, may they all be toppling soon. :-)
