Held for Ransom

GIVEAWAY

TAILER, KATHLEEN
HELD FOR RANSOM

If they don't beat a kidnapper's clock, she'll never see her sister again.

To free her sister who's being held hostage, investigative journalist Sophia Archer must prove a man's innocence before his criminal trial ends. And time's running out as she works with her former childhood friend, Detective Noah Bradley, to find the real killer. But even as one person forces her to dig up the truth, another is willing to kill to hide it...

My Review:

Whoa! What an intense roller coaster ride! Noah and Sophia are racing the clock to find a killer and the more they dig the more confusing it gets. And the more dangerous. Dodging multiple attacks and vicious threats all while chasing down clues with barely a second to breathe in between.

But, oh my, those bits of calm amidst the storm are put to good use as this hero and heroine reconnect after years apart. Never sweethearts, but childhood friends who became enemies make this a kinda reunion romance with a twist. Love the way the author brings the same kind of intensity to the romance.

Not sure if this is the start of a series, it isn't labeled as such, but Noah has some intriguing coworkers I wouldn't mind getting to know better (hint to the author.)

A fast-paced adrenaline-rush of literary delight.

  3. From childhood friends to enemies and then to happily-ever-after? All while trying to outrun & outsmart a killer? Sounds very twisty-turny, topsy-turvey...all in a good way!

    1. It's really well done. I love the friends to more trope and this one as a bit of enemies in between which mixes it up a bit. Good luck, Trixi!
