Carolina Dream

GIVEAWAY

MERRICK, REGINA RUDD
CAROLINA DREAM

Sarah Crawford wants more from life than to attend the wedding of her ex-fiance. An unexpected inheritance in South Carolina comes at the perfect time, just as Sarah is willing to use any excuse to get out of town.

When she meets potential business partner Jared Benton and discovers that a house is part of the inheritance, she is sure that God has been preparing her for this time through a recurring dream. But will a dream about an antebellum mansion, many rooms to be explored, and a man with dark brown eyes give her the confidence to take a leap of faith, leaving friends, family, and her job behind?

My Review:

A sweet, classic love story that's pure vintage Christian romance. Puts me in mind of a contemporary Janette Oke. And it's the romance that takes centre stage. Sarah and Jared's love story gently unfolds against the rich backdrop of an antebellum mansion in South Carolina. Loved the setting and the lure of an unexpected inheritance that brings Sarah to Litchfield Beach.,,and into Jared's arms!

He's all Southern charm and brown-eyed winks. What girl's pulse wouldn't stutter in his presence? By rights, Jared should be resentful of Sarah. She's usurped part of the business he holds so dear. But Jared is a godly man -- in fact all the characters are Christian in this novel -- and his penchant for seeking out the Lord in every aspect of his life goes a long way towards softening any resentment he might have otherwise nursed.

Sarah is just as devout and uses the time away from home to diligently seek the Lord's leading in her life. New opportunities await -- both professionally and personally. I love how both hero and heroine are secure in their faith, determined to seek divine guidance on each step of the journey that brings them together.

A sweet, contemporary romance from a debut author! And the first in the Southern Breeze series and I'm looking forward to more. Hoping it's Lucy's story next. (hint to the author.)

My thanks to the author for providing me with a opy of this book.

  4. Please don't enter me as I just won a book & I don't want to be greedy. Even though books are about the only thing I am greedy about. I JUST CAN'T HELP MYSELF! I need to go to Books-aholic Anonymous! But since I don't want help, I don't think that'll work. lol Of course, I'll be reading this one in the future as it takes place in my own beautiful state of SC! :-) Thanks for the lovely review, Kav!!!

    1. Seriously -- there is nothing wrong with being greedy over books. And, just to be clear, Thou Shalt Not Covet refers to everything BUT books. They are a class of their own. Bwahahahaha!

    2. I'm so glad "though shalt not covet" doesn't refer to books. Or I might be in heaps of trouble! hehe
