A Mother for his Twins

GIVEAWAY
RANDROM RETRO READ DAY!
WEATHERHOLT, JILL
A MOTHER FOR HIS TWINS

She'd given up on having a family...until he made her feel right at home.

First-grade teacher Joy Kelliher has two new students -- twin boys who belong to her high school sweetheart. If teaching Nick Capello's sons wasn't difficult enough, the widower's also her neighbor...and competing for the principal job she wants. Now with little matchmakers drawing Joy and Nick together, can they overcome a painful past to build the family Joy's always wanted?

My Review:

published in September 2019

Look what I found hiding behind my TBR pile! Not quite the season for a snowy read but it was a nice bookish escape from the wretched summer heat. :-)

A heartwarming love story that packs a wallop of emotion. It's both a reunion and second chance romance which just added to my romantical giddiness. Reunion because Joy and Nick were high school sweethearts and second chance because Nick's a widower. His abrupt departure fourteen years earlier devastated Joy and she hasn't seen him since. And while she knows forgiveness is part of her faith, a subsequent trauma has messed up past events so much that she associates it with Nick and....whoooeeeee...she is not happy to find him back in town.

And not just in town, but teaching in the classroom across the hallway from her and settling into the house across the street and applying for the same job she thought was all but hers! Talk about tension and stress!!! Accompanied by tumultuous emotions. If you like the kind of story you feel your way through, A Mother For His Twins is definitely the book for you.

    1. Ha -- it belongs on the tippy top. Mine slid right down the back of my TBR pile and lay hidden for months! Hmm...those kids are on a toboggan...they must have been up to mischief.
