Carol Award Finalist 2020 -- Romance Category

GIVEAWAY
First off -- what exactly are the Carol Awards?

They are awards given out by American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) in recognition of outstanding Christian Fiction in the previous calendar year. So these 2020 finalists are books published in 2019. You might have read them already. You might not. I've read two in this category. I'll include links to my reviews in the description.

How does this giveaway work?

You select which of the three Carol Award Finalist 2020 -- Romance Category novels you would like to receive if your name is drawn. Mention the title in your comment (or an email, if you're entering that way.) If you win, that's the book that will be sent to you. Easy Peasy. Here are the three finalists:

Driftwood Bay by Irene Hannon, Revell, A Division of Baker Publishing Group, editors Kristin Kornoelje and Jennifer Leep

After tragedy upends her world, Jeanette Mason retreats to the tiny Oregon seaside town of Hope Harbor to create a new life. Vowing to avoid emotional attachments, she focuses on running her lavender farm and tea-room -- until a new neighbor with a destructive dog and a forlorn little girl invades her turf. But she needn't worry. Dr. Logan West is too busy coping with an unexpected family, a radical lifestyle change, and an unruly pup to have any interest in his aloof and disagreeable neighbor.

Yet when both Jeannette and Logan find themselves pulled into the life of a tattered Christian family fleeing persecution in war-torn Syria, might they discover that love sometimes comes calling when it's least expected?

Bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites readers back to the charming seaside town of Hope Harbor, where they are sure to find peace, healing, and a second chance at happiness.

A Glitter of Gold by Liz Johnson, Revell, A Division of Baker Publishing Groupd, editor Vicki Crumpton

Anne Norris moved to Savannah, Georgia for a fresh start. Now her pirate-tour business is flagging, and paying the rent requires more that wishful thinking. When she discovers evidence of a shipwreck off the coast of Tybee Island, she knows it could be just the boon she needs to stay afloat. She takes her findings to local museum director Carter Hale for confirmation, but she runs after a disastrous first meeting.

Carter has been searching for the location of the wreck detailed in the worn pages of an 18th-century diary, the discovery of which could open the door to his dream job at a prestigious museum. But convincing Anne to help him fill in the missing pieces of the puzzle is no easy task. And working with Carter means that Anne will have to do the one  thing she swore she'd never do again: trust a man.

Finding a monetary backer and sticking with a search that's turning up nothing will take all their dedication -- and every secret they've tried to hide. If they can find the lost ship, they may discover a treasure worth more than all the pirate gold in the world -- love.

Love You, Truly by Susan L. Tuttle, Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas, editors Jessica Nelson and Linda Yezak

Blake Carlton, the camera-shy son of Hollywood's Darling, dodges the invasiive limelight and scripted relationships that so often accompany fame. But when his mother's popularity declines and she falls into a depression, he offers himself up as the next bachelor on a reality show, hoping to reignite interest in her career while creating a way for them to finally connect.

After her fiance dumps her for her best friend, aspiring photographer Harlow Tucker is done with romance -- until her beloved, disabled sister requests her aid to start a nonprofit. Harlow agrees to do whatever is needed to raise funds, even reluctantly costarring on a dating show with a notorious womanizer who distrusts anyone behind a lens.

As Blake and Harlow navigate the superficiality of a reality show, their preconceived notions of love are challenged. Deciding to trust each other feels like the ultimate risk, but taking that chance could lead to a love truly picture-perfect, worth both of their hearts.

  1. Have not read any of these. Actually, I was not previously familiar with Susan Tuttle. I just looked on Goodreads and find she has released three books in the last two years. That said, the Irene Hannon sounds very compelling, so that would be my pick of all. Thanks!
