GIVEAWAY |
They are awards given out by American Christian Fiction Writers (ACFW) in recognition of outstanding Christian Fiction in the previous calendar year. So these 2020 finalists are books published in 2019. You might have read them already. You might not. I've readl all three books in this category! Yay me!! I'll include links to my reviews in the descriptions.
How does this giveaway work?
You select which of the three Carol Award Finalist 2020 -- Romantic Suspense Category novels you would like to receive if your name is drawn. Mention the title in your comment (or an email, if you're entering that way.) If you win, that's the book that will be sent to you. Easy Peasy. Here are the three finalists:
The Killing Tide by Dani Pettrey, Bethany House (Baker Publishing), editor Dave Long
A corpse that only leads to secrets.
An old flame with danger written all over her.
Things are about to get very complicated.
When one Coast Guard officer is found dead and another goes missing, Coast Guard Investigative Service special agent Finn Walker faces his most dangerous crime yet. His only clues are what little evidence remains aboard the dead officer's boat, and the direction the clues point to will test Finn and the Guard to their limits.
The already volatile situation is complicated even further by the arrival of Gabby Rowley -- Finn's boss's sister and an investigative reporter with unrelenting questions about the crime. Now that she's returned, the tug on Finn's heart is strong, but with the risks she's taking for her next big story, he fears she might not live through it.
Thrown together by the heinous crime, Finn and Gabby can't ignore the sparks or judgments flying between them. But will they be able to see past their preconceptions long enough to track down an elusive killer, or will they become his next mark?

Living Lies by Natalie Walters, Revell, a Division of Baker Publishing Group, editors Amy Ballor and Andrea Doering
In the little town of Walton, Georgia, everybody knows your name -- but no one knows your secret. At least that's what Lane Kent is counting on when she returns to her hometown with her five-year-old son. Dangerously depressed after the death of her husband, Lane is looking for hope. What she finds instead is a dead body.
Lane must work with Walton's newest deputy, Charlie Lynch, to uncover the truth behind the murder. But when that truth hits too close to home, she'll have to decide if saving the life of another is worth the cost of revealing her darkest secret.
Debut novelist Natalie Walters pulls you to the edge of your seat on the first page and keeps you there until the last in this riveting story that will have you believing no one is defined by their past .

Knox by Susan May Warren, SDG Publishing, editor Barbara Curtis
Montana rancher Knox Marshall's danger years are behind him. A former bull-rider, he now runs the Marshall family ranch, raising champion bucking bulls for the National Professional Bullrider's Expo (NBR-X). Wealth and success are his, but life is stable, expected, and...ordinary. He can't help but wonder if his best years are behind him.
Kelsey Jones just wants a safe life, a family, a home. Onstage, the beautiful rising star of the Yankee Belles becomes the person she longs to be -- vivacious and confident -- burying the brokenness she carries from a violent assault. Becoming NBR-X's next country act is key to outrunning her past and achieving the success and security she craves.
Knox and Kelsey's paths collide when an explosion at an NBR-X event traps them in the rubble and leaves them reeling. Kelsey's crippling nightmares return, but for Knox, an obsession to find the bomber is ignited.
When Kelsey's past threatens Knox's family, he'll have to choose between saving the Marshall legacy or becoming the protector he's always longed to be.
The explosive beginning to the Montana Marshalls series.

So much fun to highlight the Carol Award finalists, isn't it? Good luck, Nicole!
DeleteI've read Dani & Susan's and have Natalie's already on my shelf :-)
ReplyDeleteOooohhhh -- you must get to Natalie's soon! Before mid September when the winner will be announced...I think that's when the conference is. Good luck, Trixi!
DeleteNo entry today Kav :-)
DeleteI know, I really need to get to Natalie's books...along with a million others, lol! I'm really enjoying taking a break from reviewing this month and reading whatever books I fancy. Right now it's "Betwixt Two Hearts" collection by Amanda Tru, Cathe Swanson, Kari Trumbo, Alana Terry, Carol Moncado, and Chautona Havig (all new-to-me). It's centered around an online Christian match-maker website service that is created in the first book and continues with each book featuring the couple's that are matched through it. It's funny, lighthearted, definitely Christian fiction full of faith, but has a depth and realistic characters I love. I think it's only on Kindle but not sure if there's an audiobook version. I'd recommend it highly because I KNOW you would love it :-)
That does sound good and it is available in paperback BUT it's $50 Canadian on Book Depository!!! I think I'll wait and see if the price goes down some. :-)
DeleteAwwww, I was hoping there was an audio version! I know how you like to listen to books nowadays. Sigh! If you ever get the chance, you ought to read/listen to it. :-)
DeleteProbably because it's indie published -- it must cost a lot to have an audio book produced. I just find the over inflated price a bit (lot) crazy for the paperback. Very strange.
DeleteAwe this ones hard to pick from. A new author and 2 that I know are great authors but haven't read these books. I think I'll try Dani Pettrey's The Killing Tide. rrwalter34ATgmaildotcom
ReplyDeleteGreat choice, Becky, but honestly, you couldn't go wrong with this selection. Good luck!
DeleteNatalie Walters's books are on my TBR list! They sound exciting!

DeleteI read Natalie's book (which was great) and I have Knox on my shelves but I need to catch up on my Dani Pettrey reading so I would choose The Killing Tide. Thanks for the giveaway Kav!

Thats an amazing story, Joy. The whole series is unputdownable. Good luck!
DeleteI know you don't have a Kindle but anyone else with interest might check the price. I have noticed Knox "free" on Amazon Kindle. I still greatly prefer the feel of a book, but the Kindle is handy in certain respects. I have downloaded but not started reading yet.
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, that's a great tip, CC. KNOX IS FREE ON KINDLE RIGHT NOW, PEOPLE. Hope everyone heard me. :-)
DeleteSo, are you in this giveaway? For the print copy of Knox or one of the other books? Inquiring minds want to know. :-)
I will leave the chance to the others since I already have the Kindle Knox, and it is maybe a lesser suspenseful one of the choices. You know I am not big on books that make me hear noises in the night. LOL Thanks for asking for clarification, as I now realize my grab a bargain comment was rather vague!
DeleteBut such a wonderful comment because now everyone can read Knox for free!!! Wheeeee!
DeleteSince we are talking Carol Award finalists, I will also mention a prior finalist, Sarah Sundin's Through Waters Deep, is now only 69 cents on Amazon Kindle. Not sure the price on other ebook formats or sellers.
DeleteWow!!! They have some great kindle sales...I'm kinda envious only not because I just can't enjoy reading a screen. That's an awesome book -- love her writing! A steal of a deal for ebook readers!
DeleteI've read and enjoyed Dani and Natalie's. Both were great. I haven't had a chance to read the Montana Marshalls series yet but I definitely need to! Enter me for a copy of Knox!
ReplyDeleteecriggs1990(at)aol(dot)com
