Under Suspicion

GIVEAWAY
SMITH, SOMMER
UNDER SUSPICION

With an enemy who's closer than they think...following the turth could pull them in too deep.

Hired to help the navy SEALs train their working dolphins, veterinarian Keilani Lucas indvertently crosses a vicious drug-smuggling ring on her first day. And when her fellow trainer, Lieutenant Micah Kent, comes to her rescue, she suddenly has an around-the-clock bodyguard. But with a traitor on the inside, can Keilani and Micah expose the mole before it's too late?

My Review:

Debut author alert!!!! And what an intriguing subject matter (and a bit controversial) to center a suspense around. I actually googled military trained dolphins because I'd never heard of this before and found it totally fascinating. And discovered they use seals too! Who knew? Love learning new things through reading fiction!

So we have dolphins (just about the coolest sea mammals ever!) and a whole base full of Navy SEALs and a veterinarian heroine all in one book! Can it get any better than that? Well, yes, if the suspense is so intense you can't catch your breath! And there's Danger with a capital D because...well, at one point -- just a quarter way or so into the book  Keilani grouses that there have been four attempts on her life in just two days. The no-holds-barred-we-want-her-dead kind of assaults and the bad guys are just getting started.

This spunky heroine is a well-matched with her SEAL counterpart and I loved the way these two sparred and snapped while tossing out the occasional quip. A nice match of intensity for the edge-of-your-seat suspense.

An excellent debut -- and this reader hopes that Sommer Smith has more in store for us, especially since Micah has some SEAL buddies...just sayin'. :-)

  6. Love it when I can find out about authors from book one. Thanks for the heads up and introducing me to this author. "UNDER SUSPICION" sounds amazing! As an old army brat, I'm naturally drawn to anything military and then you said military trained dolphins and I went to full attention. Great cover and I can't wait for the chance to dive into the story under it.
