Finding Peace in Wishing Bridge

GIVEAWAY
HERNE, RUTH LOGAN
FINDING PEACE IN WISHING BRIDGE

Peace may lie no further than your own front door.

Ruth Logan Herne, the bestselling author of Welcome to Wish Bridge & Home in Wishing Bridge invites readers back to the small town where big dreams come true.

Supermodel Jazz Monroe is a survivor. The world thinks she's at the top of her game but she understands the eating disorder that threatens her life and the lack of self-esteem that dogs her steps. When she comes to Wishing Bridge to help a friend, the warmth of the town embraces her. Here, waiting tables in a family-friendly Greek diner, Jazz begins to settle into the calm and joy of her new small town and the intriguing interest of two very different men.

But an unexpected attack shatters her peace. Fear threatens her newfound confidence. Friends, old and new, vow to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Can she trust them -- and herself -- enough to find the home she's never had?

Welcome back to the town where hope and prayers mingle so that wishes really do come true.

My Review:

Whoa! I wasn't expecting that sort of intense start to this novel! Finding Peace in Wishing Bridge is all that is wonderful and homey and heartwarming about a Ruthy novel with a zing of stalkerish suspense to jazz things up. (Ha! Did you catch that play on words?)

Woohoo -- the Soul Sisterhood is back and I absolutely love that Thea and Kelsey get significant page time too. You could definitely read the Wishing Bridge books as standalones but relationships build across the series so some aspects of this story will impact you more if you read them in order. Especially one heart-stopping moment where I actually screamed "Noooooooooo!" and tossed the book aside! Rest assured, no spines were damaged during the course of my bibliophile tantrum BUT I did sulk for a while before I commenced reading again. :-)

And that's because Herne writes from the heart about real life. It's raw and real and messy and my emotions go into overdrive. I was a blubbering mess by the time I reached the end. I've had two years to build up Jazz's story in my mind and the author bedazzled me with some surprising twists and turns including the stalker angle and a sort-of-maybe-love triangle.

Plus this is a multi point of view story with a real community feel to it. And a secondary romance! And cute kids! I'm in readerly seventh heaven -- especially because...drum roll please...this isn't the end of the series! We get to travel back to Wishing Bridge in 2021 and there seems to be an Amish angle to the next story judging by the sneak peek we're given of chapter one. Double eeeeepppp!

My thanks to the author for gifting me with a copy of this book.

  4. I was wondering if Herne was going to release another book in this series. It looks like she indie published, so maybe that's why it took a little bit longer. I'm excited, regardless.
