Reader's Choice - Cross-That-Off-My-Wish-List Friday!

GIVEAWAY

Alas, I didn't quite make it to the end of the week. I'm stalled on book # 5 --- happily so as it happens. The Esther Paradigm by Sarah Monzon is the kind of book you have to savor. Must not be read quickly and the thought of trying to assemble my thoughts into something coherent...well, that's not going to happen tonight. So....I'm pushing that review and giveaway to next week - look for it Monday. And I won't do a retro read this Saturday. :-( But it's a three day weekend coming up so I should be able to catch up as I rest up!

BUT DO NOT DESPAIR!!!

Today is Cross-That-Off-My-Wish-List Friday!!!!!

Related image

And that means you get to request the book you'd like to win if your name is drawn. One from that lovely long wishlist I know we all have. Must be Christian Fiction but can be any genre or publication date through to this month. And because I know it's impossible to pick just one go ahead and pick two titles. Just state them in two separate comments below or email them to me at kavluvstoreadATyahooDOTca (you can put both titles in one email.) Use Friday's Giveaway as the subject line so it grabs my attention.

Draw will be held and winner announced on Sunday May 20 2018. Offer open to International Readers. Good luck!

And a note for my cheer squad:

Not wanting to brag or anything, but I might just be able to touch my hands to the floor now! And yes, that's HUGE since I could only reach my knees before with a lot of awkward slowness while hanging on to something.

AND

For the first time in EIGHT years I can lift my heels off the floor and press into the balls of my feet!!!! Yes, I'm sitting down but my feet can bend!!!!! Chair yoga rocks!!!!!

  1. Woohoo! There is a lot of cheering and happy dancing going on in Virginia over your progress this week! I have heard chair yoga is very good!
You go ahead and take that break you need and savor The Esther Paradigm, what a fabulous place to stop and regroup! Karim and Hannah's story really touched me on several levels. No spoilers, but I reviewed it if you want to know more,

So if we are picking books for a surprise readers choice pick I'm going with Roseanna White's A Name Unheard.
Thank you and keep up the good work!!!

    1. Awesome review, Tracey. Loved the quotes you shared. There's so many amazing aspects to this story. Wouldn't it make a great book club book?! I've finished now, still savoring and experiencing a bit of end-of-book melancholy but The Lost Castle is helping to bring my spirits up again. :)

And yes, 'boot camp' lasts another week. It started a week and a half ago. First few days were orientation and assessment and then kapow!!!

Love Roseanna White! Good luck, Tracey.

      Delete
    6. Diana, thanks for the heads up on keeping a box of Kleenex on hand for Becky Wade's book. Just so you know, my husband has been known to cry over a book (or movie). He's such a softie while I'm the stoic one :-) So I know when a book makes me cry real tears,it's a good one!

Kav, I have not yet read Terri's 'If I Live' series because I've heard there's a bit of a cliffhanger at the end of each book. So while I hate waiting MONTHS for each one to release, I had decided to wait so I could binge read the whole thing. I feel it's time for a good binge read, it's been too long since I've been able to! Same thing with Julie Klassen's 'Ladies of Ivy Cottage'; once I order and get the third one (December, ugh!) My nose will be stuck in them. Yes, it takes massive amounts of self-control, discipline & patience :-) Thankfully, I have a massive pile of books to read in the meantime...lol!

      Delete
    7. Trixi, I'm sure my hubby has shed some tears over a movie, but he's too manly (he thinks) to ever let me see them. And after being married 45 years I know better than to look and see if he's crying. lol It's nice to have a sensitive husband, I think, and actually makes them more macho IMO!

Everyone's been saying I need to do yoga because it's so beneficial to body, mind and spirit but since my pain is in my feet and legs plus I can't get down on the floor I never thought it would be possible. So this is yoga adapted for people like me who can sit in a chair while doing some gentle but still challenging stretches. And I found a DVD at my library so I can continue at home. Woot! Good luck, rubynreba.
