Courting Can be Killer

GIVEAWAY

FLOWER, AMANDA
COURTING CAN BE KILLER

In the second Amish Matchmaker Mystery by USA Today bestselling author Amanda Flower, Millie Fisher has plenty to keep her buys through her golden years, whether it's minding a pair of rambunctious goats, meetings with her quilting circle, and matchmaking. But the witty widow always makes time to solve the odd murder...

Some Amish men don't know what's good for them. That's what Millie Fisher told herself  when young Ben Baughman set his heart on marrying Tess Lieb. With Tess's father refusing to give his blessing and Tess's ex-boyfriend being a wet blanket, the happy couple was bound to butt heads more than Millie's Boer goats. But when Ben tragically dies in a mysterious fire, Millie wonders if someone in her hometown of Harvest, Ohio, wanted Ben out of the wedding picture altogether...

With the help of her quilting buddies, and her outspoken Englischer firend Lois, Millie is determined to patch together all the clues without even dropping a stitch. She only hopes it won't be the death of her...

My Review:

I don't know how Amanda Flower juggles so many cozy mystery series at one time but I'm sure glad she does! And this one is all the more fun because it's set in the same town as her Amish Candy Shop Mystery series and includes some familiar faces. Like Jethro the pot-bellied pig and all the quirky townsfolk that I've grown to love.

This is the second book in the Amish Matchmaker Mystery series but it reads perfectly fine as a standalone so don't be shy about jumping right in!

There's yet another murder is this poor beleaguered picturesque town and 'Amish Marple' and her side-kick are on the hunt for a killer. Honestly, it's beyond funny that poor Deputy Aiden has to deal with so many civilian sleuths on his turf. Between his girlfriend Bailey in the candy shop series and Millie in this one, he's beyond frazzled. :-)

Millie's sidekick, Lois is a riot! An outspoken Englischer, she's Millie's complete opposite. They've known each other since childhood and the way they play off each other makes this cozy zing. Then there's Peter and Phillip, the goats who act more like over excited (by 100x) puppies. Flower brings a new level of quirk to her cozy critters.

An intriguing mystery with plenty of zip and dashes of humour made this a fun cozy armchair sleuthing experience.

  3. What an interesting mix of characters and critters! I am laughing at your comparison of the goats to hyper puppies (and I have one in my house - a mature hyper puppy, not a goat!). Thanks!
