January Giveaway -- Week One

Thanks for making this another fun week of bookish fellowship! My not-so-little TBR book is bursting at the seams now and we have so much great reading ahead of us. I'm starting the New Year off right with a brand spanking new 2021 release...see below--waaaay below in the Looking Ahead to Next Week section...but first we have some business to attend to.

Before we start with the giveaway announcements, lets reflect on the most requested book in each genre. Just a bit of nerdish bibliophile trivia but I can't seem to help myself. :-)

Historical:

Tidewater Bride by Laura Frantz

Contemporary:

The Curator's Daughter by Melanie Dobson

Suspense/Mystery:

When Twilight Breaks by Sarah Sundin

Amish:

Double Dose of Love by Kathleen Fuller

Now, without further ado, here are our Reader's Choice winners!

And wait -- it's not quite over yet. I started this new category last RC week. The Vanity category -- where I chose my favourite cover for each genre and then draw from the names of the readers who entered them...a kind of draw within a draw. Hope that makes sense. Here are those cover-love winners:

HISTORICAL
Love the attention to detail and
the exotic blend of east meets west which
seems to reflect the story within

WON BY TRIXI

CONTEMPORARY
Honestly, that porch just beckons
to me. "Come, sit a while. I have
a story to tell you."

WON BY JACKIE SMITH

SUSPENSE / MYSTERY
Love the retro vibe and sharp
colour contrast to this cover.
And love how each book in
the series compliments the others.
Plus -- dog alert!

WON BY LADY SNOW ANGEL

AMISH
Love the stark contrast of
that wintery wonderland and the
jewel tone of her dress (even if she
should be muffled up in the standard black
coat and bonnet. lol)

WON BY TRACEY HAGWOOD

And just because we've come through a really terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year I decided to do a bonus giveaway for the 100th entry on genre days the count went that high. (Why 100, you ask? Why not, I reply. I might be a tad giddy after all the tallying number crunching!)

HISTORICAL 100TH

WON BY PAM K.

CHRISTIAN FICTION 100TH

WON BY BOOKS ARE A BLESSING (JOY)

LAST HURRAH FOR 2020 100TH

WON BY TERRILL

Phew! That's another RC wrap...until the spring anyway. I'll send winners an email stating their book win, publication date and requesting a mailing address (or email addy if you prefer ebooks) so that I have everything ready for release day. Then I will email you once again when the book has been ordered.

LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT WEEK'S GIVEAWAYS:

Gah! I am in the throes of
indecision over what to read next.

    5. They are ALL color coordinated and so pretty!
I wonder if Kav just started that or if she's always done it and I was so excited about the books I didn't notice. I have to go back and look! 👀

    6. I went back and checked, we have had tunnel vision, so focused on the books we missed the art coordination that Kav has been doing all along! She is multi-talented! my Sept win was The Dress Shop on King Street with a big red hat and my name in red. So well done, thanks for all that effort Kav!!!!💙💛💚

  6. Thanks, congrats, and happy reading to all. Love the extra analysis! Among the many interesting tidbits, to me, was that Sarah Sundin's book was the top pick in mystery/suspense when previously her books were more straight history.

    1. I know, right???? It's in Germany pre-war and I bet it's going to be full of intrigue. Different from her previous books.

So, since you asked me in your email about what my choices would be I'd say...all of them?! Bwahahaha.

Okay -- in random order...well, by release date, some of my most anticipated New Year reads are:

      January
A Cowboy for Keeps by Jody Hedlund
      Nicole by Sarah Monzon
      Night Hawk by Susan Sleeman

      February

A Dance in Donegal by Jennifer Deibel
The Moonlight School by Suzanne Woods Fisher
When Twilight Breaks by Sarah Sundin

      March

Braced for Love by Mary Connealy
Unknown Threat by Lynn H. Blackburn
The Indebted Earl by Erica Vetsch

And now I feel like a traitor to all the lovelies in my wee book that I didn't mention. :-(

    2. Oh, some wonderful sounding reads, for sure! Is nice to know your thoughts, particularly with your background as a librarian and as a very dedicated reader/blogger. I especially think all of us are looking forward to a bit different type of story/background by Jody Hedlund, as you also mentioned.

  8. Whohooo, thank you Kav!!! I'm definitely drooling over "A Tapestry of Light" & can't wait to delve into it. Though I may have to stare at that beautiful cover for a while, and I'd be incredibly giddy if it was an embossed cover.

Now I have many more books to add to my 2021 reading. I had no idea Mary Connealy was coming out with a new series on March. How exciting!

So many books, so little time 😉
